Frank Hauch A NYC area jazz bass player who began studying music at the age of eleven on electric guitar. He later studied classical guitar and switched to electric bass and finally double bass, at age of 17. After high school, Frank was accepted into the prestigious WPU jazz program, where he met Tareq and became interested in his band "SHUSMO". Frank was very fortunate to be part of the program when jazz great Rufus Reid was head of the department. He also benefited from private studying under Todd Coolman, Santi DeBriano, Marcus McLaurine, and Steve Laspina. During that time, he began performing with local talent and caught the attention of a few people in the industry. Before he graduated, he had the privilege of recording with Chris Potter, Dave Leibman, and Phil Woods (“Sylvan Treasure” The Jesse Green Trio - Chiaroscuro), and performed live with Phil Woods several times as well. Frank also made a few New York appearances with pianist James Williams of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers fame. |
